Belleville began making military footwear during World War I, and is now the oldest and largest military boot provider for our US troops today. During World War II, the company won a rare, distinct honor from the War Department based on its consistent ability to deliver on-time, quality combat boots. The Defense Department bestowed its prestigious Defense Quality Excellence Award to Belleville in 1990, after the company met an urgent, accelerated deadline. Out of 656,000 boots produced, not a single desert boot failed to meet the government’s quality standards, according to the Defense Logistics Agency. Belleville has stayed in front of trends and innovation using the newest technology available to construct their boots. They have shifted from producing the same standard, traditional military boot for all branches of the military into providing more task-specific boots for the US Department of Defense. These include tactical boots, combat boots, protective boots, desert boots and flight boots for all branches of our military using the highest quality and most advanced materials.
